Dr. McGowan has always had a soft spot for animals and keen interest in science and medicine, so putting them together for her profession just seemed logical! She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph before graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in June 2006. She has done some equine medicine in the past, but is now devoting her career to small animal medicine. Heather has a special interest in ultrasound.

Heather currently lives in Caledonia with her husband Dave, and her twins...Will and Lucy! They are five years old! She also has two furry children, her dogs Beeker and Mia. Needless to say, Heather is a very busy lady!! When she isn't spending time with her family, Heather enjoys playing hockey and ultimate frisbee, and spending time outdoors!

Heather absolutely loves her job, and the constant challenge it provides her. Each day is filled with new adventures, and she always goes home feeling fulfilled!
